Legal Advisor

Job Purpose

Advisory

• Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management on all raised issues, especially on contract management.
• Advise and counsel on HMG's policies and Labor law affecting HMG interest.
• Advise concerned staff across HMG projects on the legal effects of policy proposals.
• Instruct counsel and external legal advisers on registration appeals, judicial reviews of decisions, and other issues as directed.
• Respond to legal inquiries and assist in drafting legal opinions, memoranda, and other briefing documents.

Documentation

• Ensure all legal opinions and advice commissioned by HMG are stored in the proper legal logs.
• Prepare and draft acts, policies, contracts, briefs, appeals, agreements, and legal submissions, and draft legal opinions for litigation on behalf of HMG.
• Draw up formalities regarding the settlement of disputes and monitor the implementation of legal clauses.
• Keep an updated record of ongoing cases and advise the direct manager on actions to be taken.
• Assist with HMG's contractual clauses and other documentation drafting when legal advice is required.

Reporting

• Present regular reports and report results of legal research to the manager and concerned HMG management.
• Maintain legal reports and logs, ensuring information is provided promptly as required.
• Conduct necessary follow-up activities and perform other duties as assigned.
• Track deadlines for various corporate filings and compliance requirements.

Other Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing legal material and relevant documents to identify priority issues.
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations of relevant legislating bodies.
• Suggest actions and/or settlements throughout the litigation process in accordance with HMG strategy.
• Ensure all laws and regulations are fully and promptly implemented across HMG.
• Collaborate with other team members on legal cases and issues and communicate to all related parties across HMG.
• Maintain strictest confidentiality of all incoming and outgoing correspondence.
• Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
• Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Law or its equivalent.
• Minimum (4) years of relevant legal experience.
