Lecturer in Mathematics

Position

Teaching

• Design and deliver undergraduate mathematics courses, primarily within the Foundation Year.
• Develop engaging teaching materials, assessments, and learning activities to foster critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and autonomous learning.

Student support and academic service

• Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students and support their analytical skills development.
• Participate in departmental and university service activities.
• Contribute to program development, curriculum review, and academic governance where appropriate.

Qualifications and experience

• Professional proficiency in English is mandatory; IELTS certification or an equivalent qualification is an asset.
• Teaching experience in mathematics in a senior secondary or high-school setting is required.
• A Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Engineering, or another relevant discipline from an accredited higher education institute is preferred.
• Higher-education teaching experience is highly desirable.
• Strong commitment to effective, student-centered teaching and capacity to supervise and mentor students.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, and ability to work in a multicultural academic environment.
• Knowledge of Arabic and/or French is an asset.
• Advanced pedagogical skills and proficiency in educational technologies and online learning platforms are assets.
