Job requirements

Permanent, full-time Leading Hand position based in Wingfield.

You will be working across civil infrastructure projects throughout the greater Adelaide metro & regional area, reporting directly to the Site Supervisor.

This is a hands-on operational role where you will lead a team of operational crew members and contractors.

As a primary on-site leader, you will be the person your crew looks to for safety, quality, and productivity.

• Lead & oversee crew across civil work including traffic management, drainage, earthworks, pavements, and civil services
• Provide field leadership for civil work activities through clear direction and communication
• Operate plant equipment as required including water cart, excavator, skid steer, roller
• Ensure all plant and equipment are pre-started correctly and is in good working condition and kept clean, safe and operational
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all operational, environmental and OH&S requirements

Job responsibilities

• Civil construction background with direct bulk earthworks and drainage experience
• Demonstrated experience directing a crew on site, formally or informally
• HR License and plant tickets including excavator, skid steer, roller or similar
• Current driver license and White Card
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Can do attitude & willingness to get on the tools. This is a working leading hand role
