Lead Technical Officer - Horticulture

About the role

Plant care and landscape oversight

• Inspect indoor landscape areas for defects, nutrient deficiencies, pests, diseases, and toxicity; recommend remedies using available agrochemical products and technology.
• Regularly inspect and audit the orchard and indoor plants to maintain plant health.
• Monitor soil and plant conditions to optimize fertilization efficiency and conduct horticultural tests to determine suitable plant inputs.
• Monitor irrigation network performance and recommend adjustments to support plant health.

Contractors, work orders, and reporting

• Oversee incumbent contractors and ensure contractual service-level agreements are implemented.
• Ensure airport asset-management work orders are completed to project specifications and standards.
• Report landscape conditions to the line manager with detailed quality assurance.
• Coordinate with maintenance contractors and recommend adjustments to resources, manpower, equipment, and consumables to improve efficiency and maintenance practices.
• Propose continuous improvements and ensure contractors apply safety measures.

Education and experience

• High school, vocational, or diploma qualification (with diploma type based on the role) and at least 5 years of job-related experience, or a bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 4 years of job-related experience.
• Landscape maintenance, indoor plants maintenance, and landscape auditing experience are listed as essential.
• A horticultural-related qualification is preferred.
