Our client is a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering consultancy operating across the UAE and the wider GCC.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to lead and oversee the structural design development of large-scale residential and mixed-use projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance throughout all project stages.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the structural design of high-rise buildings and large-scale/mega projects from concept through construction.
• Develop and review structural analysis, calculations, design drawings, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international codes and standards (ACI, IBC, ASCE, UBC, etc.) and UAE municipality regulations.
• Manage, mentor, and guide a team of structural engineers and designers, ensuring technical excellence and timely project delivery.
• Coordinate closely with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve integrated design solutions.
• Review and approve structural models and outputs using analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, RAM, ADAPT, and related tools.
• Liaise with authorities and municipalities (Dubai and/or Sharjah) to obtain design approvals and resolve technical comments.
• Identify design risks and propose efficient, cost-effective, and innovative structural solutions.
• Monitor project progress, resources, and budgets related to structural engineering scope.
• Provide technical leadership during construction, including responding to RFIs and site-related structural issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of structural design experience, with at least 8 recent years in the UAE.
• Proven experience in high-rise buildings and large-scale/mega projects.
• Strong expertise in structural analysis and design software: ETABS, SAFE, SAP, RAM, ADAPT, and similar tools.
• In-depth knowledge of international design codes and standards: ACI, IBC, ASCE, UBC, and others.
• UAE Municipality Approval
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage, lead, and mentor large teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a forward-thinking and innovative approach to design.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, both written and verbal.
