Lead Solutions Architect

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Build customer relationships, understand business and technical priorities, assess infrastructure, and identify modernization opportunities.
• Design integrated VMware Cloud Foundation architectures across compute, storage, networking, security, automation, and operations.
• Address availability, performance, recoverability, manageability, and security requirements.
• Lead architecture workshops, presentations, demonstrations, and proofs of concept; define success criteria and validate proposed solutions.
• Support account teams with proposals, technical requirements, and explanations of solution value, operational benefits, and investment considerations.
• Develop future-state architectures and adoption roadmaps for modernization, workload migration, and broader VCF adoption.
• Collaborate with services, systems integrators, and customers to maintain architectural alignment during implementation; document assumptions, dependencies, risks, and decisions.
• Keep current with VMware products and customer needs in Kubernetes, application networking, security, and Private AI; share feedback with product and engineering teams.

Required skills and experience

• Experience in enterprise solutions architecture, technical consulting, or technical sales, with a strong virtualization and private-cloud background.
• Strong knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation and core technologies including vSphere, vSAN, and NSX.
• Understanding of infrastructure automation, operational management, networking, storage, disaster recovery, and security architecture.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into practical solution designs.
• Experience leading customer workshops, technical evaluations, and architecture discussions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including explaining complex technical concepts to business leaders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills; ability to collaborate across sales, engineering, services, and partners.

Preferred qualifications

• Relevant VMware certification, particularly VCP-VCF Architect, or equivalent demonstrated expertise is preferred.
• Experience with VCF Automation and VCF Operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with VMware Kubernetes capabilities, VMware Defend, Avi Load Balancer, or Private AI solutions is preferred.
• A degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
