Lead Software Engineer - Investment Foundation

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of backend systems in APL and architect scalable, secure, high-performance solutions for cloud-native approaches on Azure.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical planning; partner with Product and engineering peers to deliver reliable, maintainable functionality.
• Drive quality through automated unit and integration testing, CI/CD, Git workflows, and pragmatic engineering standards.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs; collaborate with cross-location teams and understand client-specific requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of software development experience.
• Strong object-oriented design, architecture patterns, clean code, and problem-solving fundamentals.
• Solid C#/.NET experience building backend systems, APIs, services, and integrations.
• Familiarity with REST or streaming APIs, messaging concepts, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Clear communication and ability to work independently, with teams, and with international stakeholders.
• APL experience is not required; curiosity and willingness to learn APL are expected.

Preferred experience

• Acquaintance with AI tools and machine learning is a plus.
• FinTech or regulated-industry experience, vector-based or functional language exposure, and technical leadership experience are nice to have.
