Lead Software Development Engineer in Test

Role overview

Main responsibilities

• Set and enforce QA standards, evidence requirements, review processes, and quality gates across testing layers.
• Review frontend constraint dictionaries, FSM/state-model outputs, API schema reconstructions, network evidence, and tracer replay outputs.
• Coordinate QA Analysts, SDETs, and Test Operations Associates; manage timelines, dependencies, evidence rework, and cross-layer reconciliation.
• Review test architecture, validation approaches, and coverage strategies; escalate discrepancies and evidence-quality issues.
• Compile and quality-check technical evidence dossiers, identify gaps, and report delivery health, risks, dependencies, and unresolved issues.
• Prepare client handoff evidence and technical readouts with findings traceable to empirical evidence.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of QA leadership experience spanning frontend, middleware, and backend testing.
• Expertise in API contract testing architecture and governance; practical knowledge graph or entity-relationship data modeling experience applied to test/data traceability.
• Strong understanding of layered system architecture and independent verification of quality at each layer.
• Experience setting technical delivery standards and quality gates; technical grounding across manual, automation, and systems-level testing.
• Cross-functional leadership, stakeholder communication, and experience mentoring or managing SDETs and QA Analysts.
• Leading complex multi-week technical QA, API validation, or security-assessment engagements is preferred.
• Evidence/traceability modeling experience and familiarity with knowledge graphs or entity-relationship models are preferred; deep knowledge-graph engineering is not required.
• Can synthesize technical evidence into concise stakeholder-ready findings and handoff materials.

Project details and compensation

• Rate: $17 per hour.
• Project duration: 4 months; start date listed as October 19, with no year specified.
• Commitment: 22 hours per week.
