Lead Shift Engineer

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Lead shift engineering priorities while carrying out hands-on maintenance and fault-finding.
• Respond to breakdowns across mechanical and electrical equipment, plant, utilities, and site services.
• Direct and support engineers; serve as engineering contact for Production and site teams.
• Ensure planned and reactive maintenance is safely completed within required timescales.
• Maintain effective shift handovers and documentation, including engineering, hygiene, site services, and audit records.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, and site requirements; escalate risks and significant faults.
• Support engineering improvements, installations, and projects.

Candidate requirements

• Seeking an experienced Lead Engineer or Engineering Team Leader, or a strong Multiskilled Engineer ready to step into a lead role.
