A Lead Quant Developer will join a buy-side firm in Dubai and work on technology supporting quantitative finance and investment performance.
The role combines hands-on Python development, technical decision-making, and collaboration with quantitative finance professionals.
Role responsibilities
- Design and develop sophisticated Python applications for a demanding financial environment.
- Solve engineering challenges where reliability, efficiency, and code quality are critical.
- Own projects from initial requirements through implementation and ongoing improvement.
- Collaborate with investment professionals to understand needs and deliver practical technical solutions.
- Improve existing systems, development processes, and engineering capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and help establish team development best practices.
Candidate requirements
- 6+ years in quantitative development or closely related financial technology roles.
- Multi- or cross-asset background at a top-tier investment bank or established hedge fund is essential.
- Strong Python programming and software engineering fundamentals.
- Understanding of financial markets and technology supporting investment or trading activities.
- Must hold a master's degree and/or PhD from a top global university in Computer Science, Computing, Mathematics, or similar STEM equivalents.
- Track record of high-quality software delivery in demanding, performance-focused environments.
- Strong communication and ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Location and relocation
- The role is based in Dubai, UAE.
