Lead, Quality Engineer

Role Overview

Release Quality

• Collaborate with development leaders and product owners to ensure high-quality releases.
• Own overall release quality and provide Go/No-Go recommendations.
• Develop and improve testing processes within a CI/CD environment.
• Ensure test plans, executions, end-to-end coverage, and integration coverage are completed before release.
• Manually test features and complete post-deployment checks when needed.
• Document defects according to standard quality processes.

Automation Engineering

• Review and improve automation frameworks.
• Manage automated test code repositories across multiple test suites and tools.
• Ensure automation scripts meet reliability, performance, and maintainability requirements.
• Create and improve automated testing strategies for key application features.
• Research test frameworks and tools and provide recommendations.

Quality Leadership

• Train testers and engineers on code reviews, architecture reviews, and quality standards.
• Provide training, documentation, and direction for multiple quality teams and partners.
• Use customer feedback, incidents, alpha/beta results, and test outcomes to improve test practices.
• Ensure definition-of-done items are completed before production release and update process documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience involving scalable software design.
• 6+ years as an SDET or similar role developing automated frameworks and tests.
• 3+ years as a technical leader managing multiple quality teams with 8–10 direct reports.
• Strong proficiency in testing methodologies, tools, and CI/CD processes.
• Strong proficiency in web technologies and RESTful services.
• Experience with Agile, Lean, and iterative software delivery.
• Advanced knowledge of automated test architecture patterns.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver or Playwright automation frameworks.
• Experience with performance testing and AI integration testing.

Preferred Qualification

• ASQ CSQE or ISTQB Advanced certification is preferred.
• Mobile test framework development experience is a plus.

Compensation

• The anticipated annual pay range is $150,000–$165,000.
• Final compensation depends on experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market data.
