The objective is to support safer, more reliable services for road users through evidence-based assurance and continuous improvement.

Compliance and product assurance

  • Oversee supplier compliance submissions, supporting evidence, risks, findings, and improvement actions; report and escalate to senior stakeholders.
  • Provide independent assurance and constructive challenge on products, projects, and deployment decisions.
  • Ensure applicable OT standards and requirements are met and governance decisions have sufficient, appropriate, traceable evidence.

Delivery and requirements

  • Embed assurance early in delivery and work with teams, projects, and suppliers to identify and address risks.
  • Assess the impact of new or amended requirements on programmes, projects, and existing OT assets.
  • Work with OT Systems Engineering to incorporate requirements across the OTSL, DMRB, and MCHW frameworks.
  • Maintain awareness of the standards and requirements that apply at each stage of the OT lifecycle.

Continuous improvement

  • Use findings, operational data, analytics, and emerging AI tools to identify trends and systemic improvements.
  • Build resilience in OT assurance, shared knowledge, cross-team support, and a cohesive OT Test and Assurance service.
  • Help evolve the Quality and Test Team's future assurance approach across Digital Services and the wider delivery community.

Candidate requirements

  • Make and guide effective decisions and explain clearly how decisions were reached.
  • Look beyond immediate technical problems and identify wider implications.

  • Have detailed knowledge of roadside operational technology infrastructure and the lifecycle of products deployed within operational systems.
  • Understand the safety, availability, resilience, and latency requirements of operational technology products.
