Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Lead Mechanic role based in Dubai.
The Lead Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations, leading a team of technicians, and ensuring the highest standards of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
The successful candidate will diagnose complex mechanical issues, perform advanced repairs, and supervise maintenance activities across a variety of vehicle makes and models.
The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage workflow efficiently while maintaining quality standards and meeting customer expectations.
The Lead Mechanic will coordinate with service advisors, workshop management, and technicians to prioritize jobs, allocate resources, ensure timely completion of work, and maintain accurate service records.
The position also involves mentoring junior technicians, enforcing safety procedures, conducting quality inspections, and contributing to the continuous improvement of workshop operations.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair across multiple vehicle brands.
- Advanced knowledge of engine systems, transmission systems, suspension, steering, braking systems, cooling systems, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment and software.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on automotive workshop experience, including experience in a senior technician or lead mechanic role.
- Experience working with European, American, Japanese, and performance vehicles is highly preferred.
- Technical diploma, trade certification, or equivalent qualification in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance procedures and vehicle inspection standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, repair procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
- Experience supervising workshop personnel, assigning tasks, monitoring productivity, and maintaining quality control standards.
- Familiarity with workshop management systems, job card processes, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to mentor and train junior technicians.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and professional workshop practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- UAE driving license is preferred.
- Experience with performance modifications, aftermarket upgrades, tuning support, or motorsport-related vehicles will be considered an advantage.
