Overview
The LDAR/Fugitive Emission Team Lead is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and quality assurance of fugitive emission monitoring, detection, and mitigation programs.
The role ensures regulatory compliance, accuracy of leak detection surveys (LDAR), proper reporting, and continuous improvement of emission‑reduction initiatives.
This position serves as the technical authority for fugitive emission methodologies, standards, and field practices.
The team lead will report to the Environment & Decarbonization Manager for Middle East, Caspian and Africa Region.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead methane/VOC monitoring programs using US EPA Method 21, OGI (NSPS), QOGI, and advanced quantification tools.
- Oversee site‑level measurement campaigns aligned with OGMP 2.0 methodologies;
- Select and recommend detection technologies (OGI, Method 21, Hi‑Flow Sampler, TDLAS/LiDAR drones) in accordance with EPA, ISO 14064, and OGMP 2.0 guidance as per client requirements.
- Lead emissions quantification using approved models (EPA correlation equations, QOGI quantification algorithms, HFS for leak compositions, LiDAR plume analytics).
- Validate calibration and performance of monitoring equipment per EPA Method 21, and manufacturer requirements.
- Direct leak detection, tagging, classification, and root‑cause analysis following FEM/LDAR practices and EPA LDAR/FEM protocols.
- Prepare and approve LDAR/FEM reports, emissions inventories, and OGMP 2.0 Level 4–5 reporting packages.
- Ensure QA/QC of field data in line with OGMP 2.0 MRV, ISO 14064‑1, and internal quality procedures.
- Provide technical coaching on LDAR, FEM, OGI/QOGI, drone‑based measurement, and OGMP 2.0 methodologies.
- Manage client communication, regulatory interpretation, and project delivery for methane‑emissions programs.
- Support development of mitigation strategies aligned with EPA Methane Reduction Program, EU Methane Regulation, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Petroleum, or any Engineering discipline.
- 8–10 years of experience in methane/VOC emissions monitoring, LDAR programs, FEM quantification, or environmental compliance in the oil & gas sector.
- Proven hands‑on expertise with Method 21, OGI (FLIR/Opgal), QOGI, and drone‑based methane detection systems, OGMP 2.0 Levels 1–5 requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field teams and manage complex emissions‑monitoring projects.
- Regional mobility is required, with periodic travel across operational areas; site presence may be needed offshore and onshore on a case‑by‑case basis to initiate or supervise LDAR/FEM/OGMP 2.0 field activities.
