Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications; deploy, scale, and manage containerized applications with Kubernetes.
• Collaborate across teams to ship features and ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Fix bottlenecks and bugs; maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Establish hosting platforms, share technology, improve cost efficiency, and advise senior management on technology positioning.
• Lead engineering teams through performance management, development, communication, and recognition.
• Build a high-performing organization focused on shared OKRs, compliance, customer experience, and continuous improvement.
• Support programme and bank outcomes while promoting inclusive and ethical conduct.

Requirements

• Deep financial services and technology knowledge; expertise in Kubernetes and DevSecOps.
• Proven delivery of complex transformational change and experience designing technical platforms in complex industries.
• Strong hands-on Java microservices experience and solid Agile framework experience, including familiarity with Agile tools.
• Ability to write maintainable, testable code, including unit and regression tests; in-depth Kubernetes ecosystem knowledge.
• Hands-on container orchestration experience; able to troubleshoot test and production issues and prepare root cause analyses.
• Proactive collaboration with geographically dispersed teams; strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Node.js and Go experience are advantageous.
