Description About The Role: You will be responsible to Manage and oversee all aspects of aviation and non-aviation insurance claims within Qatar Airways Group.This includes analyzing, assessing and resolving claims related to aircraft hull damage, liability, spares,passenger, baggage, and third-party incidents and non-aviation classes of insurance. The role focuses on minimizing financial exposure and risk while ensuring efficient and fair claims handling in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies as well as by ensuring that the Insurance Policies that have been purchased comply with all applicable policies and procedures and are beneficial to Qatar Airways Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Support line manager in developing and implementing effective strategies to mitigate financial losses for the company.
- Identify opportunities to streamline claims handling processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Keep up to date with changes in insurance laws and regulations and adjust claims handling processes as necessary
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, such as technical teams, legal counsel, brokers, and insurers...etc. to optimize claim processes and protect the QR Group’s interests.
- Proofread contracts to ensure appropriate insurance language in the policies procured are in the best interest of QR Group.
- Draft and suggest counter risk mitigation framework to align with the insurance policy(ies) to aid reducing attritional or major claim loss records.
- Maintain robust underwriting declaration records from respective business units for renewal and adjustment of the policy(ies).
- As practically possible, analyze risk of individual business unit, new or existing, to ensure compliance with regularity requirements and policy/policies.
- Identify inefficiencies such as difference in conditions and limits against the business risk exposures (new or existing) and the policies and propose viable solutions.
- Analyze processes and implement appropriate matrices to bridge gaps.
- Monitor approval of premium invoices and schedule payments in accordance with the insurance policy T&Cs.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of insurance claims, ensuring timely and efficient handling from notification to settlement.
- Analyze incident reports and claim documents to determine coverage applicability and assess liability and damages.
- As appropriate, execute and oversee the recovery of QR’s financial loss(es) from third parties (be they suppliers, service providers, airport authorities or any other third party organizations).
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather relevant information for claims' assessment and provide advice, draft e-mails/documents accordingly.
- Act as the primary liaison with insurance brokers, reinsurers, adjusters, and legal advisors to facilitate smooth claims processing and dispute resolution.

Qualification
- High School Qualification/Vocational Qualification/Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 year of job-related experience. OR Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 year of job-related experience.For Qatari Nationals, a Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent without prior experience.
- Significant understanding of the fundamental principles of insurance and their application in a commercial context
- Minimum of 4 years insurance experience (or 07 years’ Commercial/Corporate insurance experience for candidates without a bachelor’s degree)
- Have participated and prepared technical evaluation reports and commercial evaluation reports
- Experience in tender preparation, reviewing quotations from suppliers, bid price analysis
- Excellent Negotiation Skills
- Excellent knowledge of Insurance principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with command of English Language
- Excellent Analytical Skills
- Ability to function under pressure and work on various projects simultaneously
- Ability to grasp new areas of Insurance rapidly and accurately
- Excellent ability to focus on detail
