Website and e-commerce platform
- Maintain and improve the existing website; develop features, custom plugins, and integrations using WordPress and WooCommerce.
- Improve UX, search, filtering, product discovery, navigation, checkout, payments, and technical reliability.
- Develop platform capabilities including recommendations, reviews, wishlists, customer accounts, promotions, order tracking, returns, notifications, cross-selling, and loyalty.
APIs and integrations
- Build and maintain APIs for inventory, products, orders, customers, payments, shipping, warehouses, suppliers, mobile applications, and third-party services.
- Design API architecture and maintain reliable data synchronization between systems.
- Connect inventory operations through quantity and availability updates, warehouse synchronization, low-stock automation, error handling, and reconciliation.
- Maintain shipping integrations for rates, tracking, shipment updates, notifications, and logistics partners.
- Own payment and checkout infrastructure, including gateway integration, secure processing, troubleshooting, synchronization, and conversion improvement.
Mobile and AI
- Create the technical foundation for mobile applications, including APIs and support for accounts, browsing, search, cart, checkout, orders, tracking, and notifications.
- React Native, Flutter, or similar technologies are mentioned for mobile app work.
- Build an AI-powered customer service and shopping assistant for product questions, discovery, recommendations, and comparisons.
Platform goals
- Improve website performance, security, and scalability, and develop the technology roadmap for a modern, high-performance shopping platform.
Requirements
- Able to take long-term technical ownership of the e-commerce website and platform direction.
- Able to maintain and develop WordPress and WooCommerce systems, custom features, plugins, and integrations.
- Comfortable designing API architecture and maintaining reliable data synchronization between systems.
- Able to build a technical foundation for mobile applications and connect apps to WooCommerce or backend systems.
- Actual mobile application development experience is a strong advantage.
