Role overview
Oversees facility operations, building infrastructure, and workplace environments to support safety, functionality, efficiency, compliance, and business continuity.
Manages maintenance, space utilization, service providers, operational budgets, and improvement projects.
Facilities operations and maintenance
- Develop facilities management strategies and maintenance schedules, and coordinate daily building operations.
- Monitor building systems and manage equipment and assets; arrange preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs.
- Identify maintenance needs and minimize disruption while extending asset life cycles.
- Manage cleaning, security, landscaping, waste disposal, utilities, and other facility support functions.
Safety, services, and projects
- Coordinate safety inspections, assess operational hazards, maintain emergency procedures, and support regulatory compliance.
- Maintain inspection records, coordinate corrective actions, monitor contractor compliance, and support safety initiatives.
- Supervise facilities personnel, coordinate contractors, set service expectations, and monitor service quality.
- Oversee budgets, operating expenses, utility use, equipment procurement, renovations, space planning, office relocations, and facility upgrades.
- Establish performance indicators, prepare reports, evaluate service providers, and promote energy conservation and responsible resource use.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Management, Property Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of building operations, preventive maintenance, asset management, facilities coordination, and building systems.
- Knowledge of workplace safety, emergency procedures, compliance, and risk management.
- Leadership and coordination skills; ability to manage personnel, contractors, maintenance schedules, service performance, and projects.
- Understanding of facilities budgets, procurement, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facilities management or maintenance tracking systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, asset registers, and compliance documentation.
