Role overview

Lead enterprise AI-enabled engineering transformation initiatives within Eaton’s Corporate Technology Office.

Develop and industrialize digital engineering technologies supporting future products and platforms.

Combine engineering expertise and AI to build production-ready workflows spanning requirements, architecture, design, simulation, testing, and manufacturing.

Workplace

  • Hybrid work schedule based at an Eaton engineering site within the United States.
  • The role is open to candidates residing within 50 miles of a US Eaton location; relocation benefits are not offered.

Salary

  • Expected annual salary range is $105,000–$154,000.

Responsibilities

  • Create agentic AI design models for optimization, meshing, simulation, constraint checks, manufacturability scoring, and design iteration.
  • Integrate AI into engineering tools and processes, including requirements management, DFMEA, and DFSS.
  • Develop multiphysics digital twins integrating electromagnetic, thermal, structural, fluid, and control-system models.
  • Build physics-AI co-simulation engines combining PINNs, finite-element solvers, and surrogate inference.
  • Build CAD-aware transformer/GNN models for design retrieval, completion, and conditional regeneration.
  • Deploy enterprise digital twins for design, operations, and manufacturing with connected digital threads.

Required qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years developing AI/ML models, CAE workflows, or digital twin systems.
  • At least 2 years of industry experience in aerospace, electrical systems design, or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of computing and artificial intelligence, including AI agent development.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future corporate sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications and criteria

  • An engineering master’s degree, strong product-development experience with high-fidelity multiphysics models, and expertise in AI, physics-informed machine learning, and digital twins are preferred.
  • Experience with multiple CAE tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or MATLAB Simulink is a plus.
  • The role calls for problem-solving, communication, collaboration, multitasking, and business or research acumen.
