and Responsibilities

· Control of all maintenance work in progress in order to ensure that all works are executed properly and with-in the time schedule

· Scrutinize the technical aspect of all the maintenance work outsourced or to be contracted to external agencies and to ensure that the externally contracted work has been properly executed

· Independently evalute, organize and priorties work which is normally subject to internal checking and approval.

· Coordinate with operations department for the execution of important maintenance works

· Ensure that on a daily basis all “Work Orders” are scrutinize by the concerned team member and they are attended to as per the priority assigned by the operations department and/or the resources available with the maintenance

· Review the pending “Work Orders” of the plant on regular basis in order to review the bottlenecks

· Ensure safe operating procedures are up-to-date & are in place and in practice.

· Ensure tools and equipment inventory updated annually and right tools are available for every job

· Maintain close coordination with Purchase department to ensure that the spare parts, services and consumables required for the maintenance activities are available on time

· Ensure that the technical bids from vendors are evaluated on time and feedback is given to procurement department and/or other departments in ITM O&M company as the case maybe

· Receiving work order and obtaining work permit.

· Carry out technical evaluation for equipment and spares for his area.

· Ensure that proper records of all maintenance activities are maintained

· Analyses the record of all-major equipment and highlighted exception to the higher authorities

· Review and approve the daily/monthly/yearly etc. reports before the deadlines.

· Directs and controls the activities of the mechanical engineers and technicians carrying out Mechanical maintenance on the plant mechanical equipment

· Prepare budget for the department and ensure its timely implementation for the procurement of the spares and equipment and the services required

· Regular (at least monthly) review of budgeted expenses, e.g., checking and endorsing invoices within his delegated authority, estimating labour requirements for special work, authorizing material request, initiating cost proposal for improvement and upgrading of plant and equipment, etc.

· Submits the technical data, reports on machine performance and proposals whenever required for plant modifications, etc.

· Provides ongoing training and development for all subordinates with emphasis on the development of UAE Nationals

· Participate in the review of all projects related to his area from the study phase to commissioning

· Prepares his department objectives, goals and targets of each of the team members in the HR system and ensures full implementation and target dates are met.

· Responsible for the performance evaluation of the team members and suggest development programs.

· Adhere to the required level of moral and ethical standard for employability in the company

· Applies all HSE Policies and Procedures and continually strives to improve all the aspects of HSE Performance

· Responsible for knowing and following the Plant Safety Procedures and reporting any unsafe conditions or acts to the Supervisor, Management and record them in Intelex system.

· Informs employees and contractors that hazardous materials and hazardous waste, except as expressly authorized by regulations may not be disposed of via the sewer system, regular trash, fume hoods or other unsafe or environmentally damaging routes; and to stress the importance of proper hazardous material/waste management. Ensure 3R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) during purchasing materials

· Ensures that everyone working in the team is appropriately trained to identify and mitigate potential hazards

· Determines and ensures appropriate training for those working under their supervision.

Contact the appropriate departmental person (such as a safety officer) or QHSE as needed.

· Ensures that work requiring training is performed only by persons who have received the proper training, certification and authorization.

· Responsible to immediate Supervisor ensuring compliance with the facility’s Environmental Compliance Program taking all reasonable precautions to prevent incidents of non-compliance personally or on the part of others.

Shall further be responsible to immediately report to Supervisor any known or suspected violations to the Environmental Program or any suspected situation that could lead to a violation

· Adheres to ITM O&M Company’s Policies

· Responsible for one’s own Health and Safety and that of his/her colleagues in accordance with the Health and Safety Policies & Procedures of the Company

· No tolerance for unsafe conditions or unsafe acts

· Uses stop work authority when observing an unsafe condition or unsafe act

· Promptly acts onFire Prevention Inspection Report, ensuring that all noted issues and concerns are corrected as appropriate

· Ensures that everyone working in the team is appropriately trained to identify and mitigate potential hazards

· Ensures that work requiring training is performed only by persons who appropriately qualified and authorized

Minimum qualification and experience

· Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute in UAE or abroad.
