About the Position

The Lead Engineer, Cloud Data Hosting, drives design, engineering, modernization, and operational excellence for enterprise storage, backup, and cloud hosting platforms.

The role partners with Product Owners, Architects, Engineering teams, Operations teams, and vendors to turn strategic initiatives into executable roadmaps and implementations.

The role requires expertise in NetApp, Veeam, Microsoft Azure, DevOps, automation, and AI-driven operations.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 14 or more years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud hosting, storage, backup, and data protection platforms.
  • 10 or more years of hands-on experience with NetApp storage technologies and enterprise storage architectures.
  • 8 or more years of experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, enterprise backup, disaster recovery, cyber recovery, and data protection.
  • Strong Microsoft Azure experience covering IaaS, PaaS, Azure NetApp Files, Azure Backup, Site Recovery, Entra ID, governance, and security.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, engineering-led product development, and platform modernization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert strategic initiatives into implementable engineering work and drive modernization through operational handover.
  • Lead implementation of Azure, NetApp, and Veeam solutions and establish reusable automation and Infrastructure as Code patterns.
  • Drive DevOps, GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and AI adoption to improve reliability and observability.
  • Lead P1 and P2 incidents, root cause analysis, problem management, and preventive action planning.
  • Ensure reliability, disaster recovery readiness, resilience, audit support, compliance, cybersecurity, and risk remediation.
  • Mentor engineers, promote knowledge sharing, and build subject-matter expertise across data hosting technologies.

Technical Skills

  • NetApp ONTAP, FAS, AFF, Azure NetApp Files, Cloud Volumes ONTAP, NAS, SAN, NFS, SMB/CIFS, and iSCSI.
  • NetApp data management features including FlexCache, FlexClone, Snapshots, Quotas, SnapMirror, and SnapLock.
  • Veeam Backup & Replication, enterprise backup architecture, retention management, compliance, replication, and business continuity.
  • Azure infrastructure, backup, Site Recovery, Entra ID, governance, security, automation, and AI-driven operations.
