Role Summary

Lead architecture, engineering strategy, and modernization across the Prime Services Technology organization.

Define target-state architecture for Securities Lending and Prime Brokerage technology platforms.

Drive cloud-native, microservices, real-time event-driven, and AI-assisted engineering practices.

Core Requirements

  • 20+ years of software engineering, architecture, and technology leadership experience.
  • Experience architecting large-scale distributed systems within Capital Markets.
  • Expertise in high-performance, low-latency, mission-critical platforms.
  • Knowledge of scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, and high-availability architectures.
  • Experience defining technology roadmaps and leading modernization initiatives.

Architecture and Engineering

  • Expertise in Domain-Driven Design, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience with asynchronous messaging, streaming, distributed systems, caching, disaster recovery, APIs, and enterprise integration.
  • Strong software engineering background emphasizing automation, observability, and operational readiness.

Cloud and AWS

  • Hands-on AWS architecture and engineering experience.
  • Experience with EKS/Kubernetes, ECS, Lambda, Aurora/PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, and EventBridge.
  • Knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation and multi-region highly available platforms.

Streaming and Development

  • Experience with Kafka, messaging platforms, event streaming, real-time data processing, and high-volume workflows.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and distributed computing.
  • Proficiency in Python, Databricks, Spark, data engineering, and cloud data platforms.

AI and Leadership

  • Experience driving GitHub Copilot, generative AI, and AI-powered software engineering adoption.
  • Ability to establish responsible AI-first engineering practices.
  • Leadership competencies include strategic technology leadership, mentoring, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Domain Experience

  • Experience in one or more of Securities Lending, Prime Brokerage, Securities Finance, Repo Financing, Collateral Management, Equity Finance, Funding and Liquidity Management, or Capital Markets Trading Platforms.

  • Design real-time systems using asynchronous messaging, streaming technologies, and low-latency architectures.
  • Establish technology roadmaps and lead large-scale modernization programs.
  • Apply automation, observability, disaster recovery, and operational readiness practices.
  • Drive adoption of GitHub Copilot, generative AI, and AI-first engineering practices.
  • Mentor talent and promote engineering excellence, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
