Role overview
Operate and maintain lathe machines to manufacture and machine metal components according to technical drawings and specifications.
Industry: Food Processing Machinery Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Operate lathe machines to produce metal parts to required dimensions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
- Set up tools, workpieces, and machine settings.
- Measure finished parts using vernier calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Ensure machined parts meet accuracy, quality, and finishing requirements.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and company standards.
- Report machine faults or production issues to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating lathe machines.
- Knowledge of machining processes, tools, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
