About This Role

Responsibilities of Landscape Assistant

• Coordinate daily tasks like planting, pruning, weeding, and irrigation maintenance for project sites.

• Supervise gardeners and labourer’s, assigning tasks and providing mentoring on horticultural techniques.

• Ensure tools and machinery are operated safely and maintained, reporting any breakdowns.

• Conduct routine inspections to ensure high-quality plant care, site cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety standards.

• Monitor material usage, manage inventory, and assist with project budgets.

• Oversee landscape technical planning, designing layouts, and implementing irrigation or hardscape plans.

• Supervise contractors and manage project timelines to ensure adherence to approved designs and regulations.

• Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly progress reports and technical site documentation.

• Ensure compliance with municipality regulations, environmental standards, and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

• Requires 2-+ years of experience in landscaping, with specialized expertise for supervisory or engineering roles.

• Strong understanding of irrigation systems, horticulture, pest management, and fertilizers.

• A diploma or bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, or landscape engineering is common.

• High school diploma or degree in horticulture/engineering.

• Ability to operate machinery such as mowers and trimmers.

• Strong knowledge of local municipal requirements for landscaping.
