- + Support the development, provision and evaluation of breast feeding and BFHI educational programs for health professionals.
- + Liaise with professional reports and leadership to identify organizational and individual learning needs for lactation and BFHI.
- + Develop and maintain key partnerships crucial to the success of the role including other Lactation consultants, community BFHI leaders and the DOH.
- + Computer literate.
• International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- Registered Midwife or Nurse with relevant licensure
- Experience with Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative standards
- Breast feeding clinical experience
- BLS certification
- Certificate in Adult Teaching preferably
- Professional knowledge of the breastfeeding process, antepartum intrapartum and postpartum health care and psychosocial issues
- Knowledge of the breastfeeding care and educational principles, practices, procedures, and techniques needed to assist breastfeeding families
- Knowledgeable and skilled in the physiology and clinical management of breastfeeding
