Role Description
We are seeking a ***Laboratory Technician*** to conducting field and laboratory testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
The role supports quality control activities for infrastructure and construction projects
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory and field testing of construction materials including soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and water samples.
- Prepare, handle, and label test samples according to approved procedures.
- Conduct tests such as:
- Soil compaction and classification tests
- Concrete slump, cube, and compressive strength tests
- Aggregate sieve analysis and specific gravity tests
- Asphalt density and bitumen-related tests
- Record, analyze, and maintain accurate test results and laboratory records.
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working condition.
- Prepare test reports and submit results within required timelines.
- Assist in material inspections and quality control activities on-site.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and company HSE requirements at all times.
- Report any non-conforming materials or test results to the Laboratory Engineer.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory and testing areas.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Laboratory Technician in construction projects.
Experience
with soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate testing is preferred.
Familiarity with ASTM, BS, AASHTO, or equivalent testing standards.
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of construction materials testing, laboratory equipment operation, QA/QC procedures, and applicable testing standards.
