Supports the College's educational and research mission by helping ensure efficient laboratory operations.
Provides technical expertise, equipment maintenance, student and faculty assistance, and support for laboratory safety.
Technical and laboratory operations
- Provide technical support on laboratory hardware, software, peripherals, and facilities during experiments.
- Assist senior students with graduation projects and guide students in experimental data collection, analysis, interpretation, and technical report writing.
- Manage laboratory activities, processes, and procedures.
- Install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory hardware, software, and peripherals while observing licensing and copyright requirements.
- Supervise upgrades and maintenance, and ensure new equipment and experimental units are installed and working properly.
- Maintain and repair equipment; oversee lab facilities and recommend improvements to accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and request equipment, consumables, and furniture to specification.
Teaching and safety support
- Develop and maintain experiment manuals and laboratory safety plans.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and implement safety training for faculty and students.
- Supervise laboratory sessions and examinations, assist with grading laboratory reports, and maintain student laboratory records.
- Assist faculty with practical classes, assignments, grading, attendance, and examination invigilation.

- The role requires effective collaboration with faculty, staff, and students.
Additional duties
Participate in projects supporting the College, department, or University and complete assigned project tasks accurately and on time.
