Laboratory Chemist

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate gold and silver assays using Fire Assay/Cupellation methods.
• Operate and maintain ICP-OES equipment for impurity detection and purity verification.
• Conduct Potentiometric Titration analysis in accordance with ISO standards.
• Perform QA/QC inspections on bullion products, gold bars, and coins.
• Conduct XRF and weight analysis to confirm product purity standards.
• Maintain calibration of laboratory instruments, balances, and analytical equipment.
• Record, analyze, and prepare laboratory reports with high accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and OH&S regulations.
• Handle hazardous chemicals safely and maintain proper laboratory procedures.
• Support refinery operations with accurate analytical testing and reporting.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in refinery laboratory operations or hallmarking industry.
• Strong knowledge of Fire Assay, ICP-OES, XRF, and Potentiometric Titration.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and QA/QC procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and reporting accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in gold refinery or precious metals industry.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and hazardous chemical handling.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
