Role overview
The Laboratory Technician tests raw materials, fresh concrete and hardened concrete for compliance with project specifications, company standards and quality requirements.
The role supports production by maintaining consistent concrete quality and accurate test records.
Testing and production support
- Test cement, aggregates, water and admixtures.
- Perform fresh-concrete slump, temperature, air-content and density tests.
- Prepare and test concrete cubes or cylinders for compressive strength.
- Monitor batching-plant production and verify mix proportions.
- Collect samples from project sites or plants according to testing procedures.
Laboratory operations
- Maintain laboratory equipment, tools and calibration records.
- Record and report test results accurately and promptly.
- Identify nonconforming materials or mixes and report them to the supervisor.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety and organization.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in concrete laboratory testing or ready-mix operations.
- Basic knowledge of concrete mix design and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing standards.
- Concrete or construction-materials testing experience is preferred.
Work location
- Work is in person.
- Willingness to relocate or work at other project sites or company locations as required.
