Our client is seeking a highly skilled L2 Network Engineer for a freelance engagement in Dubai. This is a mission-critical opportunity for a builder who thrives on solving complex network challenges and driving operational excellence. You’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding and optimizing enterprise network environments, ensuring seamless connectivity and robust security for business continuity.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing day-to-day operations of enterprise firewalls, with a focus on Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies
• Designing, implementing, and optimizing firewall policies to ensure maximum security and efficiency
• Proactively monitoring network traffic and responding to security incidents with precision and urgency
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex network and firewall issues to minimize downtime
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable network solutions
• Documenting configurations, changes, and incident resolutions for knowledge sharing and compliance

Technical Skills

• Proven hands-on experience with Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls
• Strong understanding of Layer 2 networking concepts and protocols
• Expertise in firewall policy management, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Solid grasp of network security best practices and incident response
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools

Language Proficiency

• Professional proficiency in English is required

Other Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive outcomes in high-pressure environments
• Builder mindset: proactive, solutions-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
• Experience working in fast-paced, multicultural teams is a plus
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, NSE) are advantageous
