Job Responsibilities
- Handle escalated backup and storage issues from L1 teams.
- Monitor backup jobs, schedules, and storage system performance.
- Troubleshoot failed backup jobs and storage connectivity issues.
- Manage SAN, NAS, and DAS storage environments.
- Perform firmware updates, patching, and system health checks.
- Optimize backup policies and storage configurations.
- Support disaster recovery testing and data recovery activities.
- Maintain documentation, incident reports, and utilization reports.
- Coordinate with L3 teams, vendors, and hardware providers.
Required Skills & Technologies
- Experience with enterprise backup tools: Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Commvault.
- Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, and data protection processes.
- Hands-on experience with storage technologies: SAN, NAS, DAS.
- Experience with Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE storage systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Nagios.
- Knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V integration with storage systems.
- Experience using ServiceNow or Jira ticketing systems.
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination
- Ability to work in fast-paced enterprise environments
