Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Junior IT Support Officer to provide first-level technical support to end users and assist in maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of computer hardware, software, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting techniques, with a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, business applications, and productivity software.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and email-related issues.
  • Respond to user support requests through tickets, phone, email, or in person in a timely manner.
  • Set up user accounts, reset passwords, and manage basic access permissions.
  • Assist in onboarding and offboarding employees by preparing and recovering IT assets.
  • Perform routine system updates, software installations, and antivirus checks.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, support tickets, and inventory.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or senior IT personnel for issue escalation when required.
  • Support office networking equipment, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, and printers.
  • Assist with data backups and ensure compliance with IT security policies.
  • Educate users on basic IT best practices and cybersecurity awareness.
  • Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and preventive maintenance activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support roles.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi connectivity is an advantage.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices and endpoint protection.
  • Professional IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or Cisco certifications are advantageous.

Preferred Requirements

  • UAE experience in a corporate environment is an advantage.
  • Valid UAE driving license is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.
