Job Overview
The role involves designing, developing, and managing API solutions using **Kong API Gateway**, ensuring APIs are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure Kong entities (Services, Routes, Plugins, Caching, API Management)
- Develop and customize Kong plugins and Lua scripts
- Implement API security (Authentication, Authorization, RBAC, Rate Limiting)
- Integrate Kong with backend systems and microservices
- Traffic management (Load Balancing, Caching, Transformations)
- Monitor, debug, and optimize Kong performance
- Automate Kong configurations via CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain API documentation using Kong Developer Portal
- Work with Kubernetes, Kong Ingress, and cloud platforms
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in **Kong API Gateway (Admin & Development)**
- Hands-on with **Lua scripting**
- Solid understanding of **REST APIs, OpenAPI, Microservices**
- Experience with **RBAC, OAuth2, OIDC, Auth0**
- Exposure to **Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, DevOps practices**
- Experience with **AWS / Azure / GCP**
- API testing tools: Postman, JMeter, Insomnia
- Kong certification is a plus
