Role Description

The Kitchen Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and basic repair of all kitchen equipment and related systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance on kitchen appliances, and promptly addressing equipment breakdowns to minimize disruption to food production.

The role involves coordinating with the culinary team to identify equipment issues, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and supporting compliance with safety, hygiene, and brand standards.

The Kitchen Technician will also assist with equipment installations, calibrations, and upgrades, and may support external vendors or contractors as needed.

Collaboration with other engineering and operations team members is essential to maintain a safe, reliable, and guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including basic Food Preparation and Cooking processes to support equipment usage and troubleshooting.
  • Solid knowledge of Hygiene, food safety standards, and safe handling practices in a hotel or commercial kitchen environment.
  • Effective Communication and Customer Service skills to collaborate with kitchen, engineering, and management teams and respond professionally to requests.
  • Technical aptitude for maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators, exhaust systems).
  • Previous experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, or a similar role in hospitality or commercial kitchens is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals, maintenance schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under time constraints and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant technical or vocational certification in mechanical, electrical, or refrigeration fields is an advantage.
