Role Summary
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization throughout the production facility, ensuring all equipment, utensils, containers, and work areas are cleaned and sanitized according to Majama's food safety and HACCP requirements.
The role supports efficient production operations while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and workplace hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and store all production utensils, containers, molds, scoops, trays, and equipment.
- Clean production floors, walls, drains, sinks, and workstations according to cleaning schedules.
- Perform deep cleaning of production areas as required.
- Ensure cleaning chemicals are used safely and according to SOPs.
- Dispose of waste and recycling materials in designated areas.
- Prepare and organize clean equipment before production starts.
- Assist production staff with moving ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods when required.
- Replenish cleaning and sanitation supplies.
- Support production changeovers between different product runs.
- Clean and maintain production equipment according to SOPs.
- Report damaged equipment, utensils, or facility issues.
- Assist with preventive maintenance cleaning activities.
- Organize cleaning equipment and chemicals in designated storage areas.
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning materials and inform supervisors when replenishment is required.
- Ensure all storage areas remain clean and orderly.
Qualifications
- Previous stewarding, cleaning, or food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 25 kg.
- Willingness to work in chilled and frozen production environments.
