Junior VAT Associate / VAT Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing UAE VAT return workings and supporting schedules.
• Review sales and purchase invoices for VAT purposes.
• Support input VAT and output VAT calculations.
• Prepare basic VAT reconciliations between accounting records, invoices, and VAT returns.
• Assist with FTA portal filing and documentation.
• Follow up with clients for missing invoices, statements, and supporting documents.
• Maintain organised working files for each client.
• Support senior team members in VAT reviews, voluntary disclosures, refunds, and tax clarification work when required.
• Highlight unusual transactions or missing documents to the manager.

Requirements

• Maximum
• one year of UAE VAT experience

• Fresh graduates with basic VAT knowledge may also be considered.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Tax, or a related field is preferred.
• Good Excel skills.
• Basic experience with accounting software such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally, Xero, Odoo, or similar is preferred.
• Good attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Able to work remotely and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills with clients and team members.

Work Arrangement

• Remote role.
• Candidate must be based in Dubai.
• Occasional in-person meetings may be required.
• Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred.
