Job Summary
Links Insurance Brokers LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Medical Underwriter to support the growth, placement, and servicing of our SME Medical Insurance portfolio, with additional exposure to Individual Health Insurance business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining and negotiating quotations from insurers, preparing client proposals, managing renewals, coordinating policy servicing activities, and supporting the sales team in securing and retaining SME medical insurance accounts.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience within the UAE medical insurance market, preferably with an insurance broker or insurer, and possess strong knowledge of SME medical insurance products, underwriting practices, insurer requirements, and UAE regulatory guidelines.
SME New Business & Quotation Management
- Obtain quotations from leading UAE insurers for SME medical insurance prospects.
- Ensure timely turnaround of quotations and proposals to support business acquisition targets. Policy placement and onboarding for SME
- Review client requirements and prepare complete underwriting submissions.
- Analyze and compare quotations, benefits, exclusions, network options, and pricing structures.
- Prepare professional comparison reports and recommendations for clients and the sales team.
- Negotiate premiums, benefits, and policy terms with insurers to secure competitive solutions.
- Support the sales team in new business presentations, prospect meetings, and client discussions.
SME Renewal Management
- Manage the renewal process for assigned SME medical insurance portfolios.
- Approach insurers for renewal terms and alternative market quotations.
- Review claims experience, utilization trends, and insurer renewal justifications.
- Negotiate renewal terms, premium adjustments, and benefit enhancements.
- Prepare renewal presentations and recommendations for clients.
- Support retention initiatives and contribute to achieving portfolio renewal targets.
Policy Administration & Servicing
- Coordinate policy issuance, endorsements, additions, deletions, and member amendments.
- Booking of inception invoices in the Praktora system.
- Follow up with insurers on pending requests and policy documentation.
- Ensure all servicing requests are completed within agreed service standards.
- Maintain accurate client records, underwriting files, and renewal trackers.
- Assist with compliance and documentation requirements for new and existing policies.
Client & Insurer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers and internal stakeholders.
- Respond to client and sales team inquiries regarding coverage, benefits, exclusions, and underwriting requirements.
- Assist in resolving underwriting and policy-related issues.
- Provide technical support to the sales and client servicing teams.
- Provide support to the individual medical portfolio team, when required.
- Provide support to the claims team, when required. This includes the following:
- Sourcing and negotiating individual medical insurance quotations from insurers.
- Preparing and presenting quotations to clients.
- Policy placement and onboarding of individual medical policies.
- Booking policies and inception invoices in the Praktora system.
- Coordinating with insurers, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth policy issuance and implementation.
Market Intelligence & Compliance
- Monitor market trends, insurer appetite, pricing movements, and product developments.
- Stay informed about UAE health insurance regulations and market practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support management with portfolio analysis, insurer performance reviews, and reporting.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 2–4 years of UAE experience in Medical Insurance Underwriting, Broking, or Account Management.
- Proven experience handling SME Medical Insurance portfolios is mandatory.
- Exposure to Individual Medical Insurance products is preferred.
- Strong understanding of UAE health insurance regulations and market practices.
- Experience dealing directly with major UAE medical insurance providers.

- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple quotations, renewals, and servicing requests simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of SME medical insurance products, benefits, exclusions, and underwriting requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and CRM systems.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
