Role purpose

Based in Dubai, the junior assistant provides remote IT support to colleagues globally and hands-on technology and office support across MENA offices.

The role supports day-to-day UAE office operations and coordinates locally with central back-office teams.

The position works within established procedures, access permissions, and escalation routes, with guidance and training as experience develops.

IT support

  • Handle first-line IT incidents and service requests, maintain helpdesk records, and keep users informed.
  • Provide remote and in-person support for devices, workplace applications, user accounts, and approved AI tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues within authorized procedures; coordinate with colleagues or service providers and escalate sensitive or high-risk matters.
  • Set up and support meeting-room, videoconferencing, presentation, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Assist with employee joiner, mover, and leaver activities, including account administration and device preparation.

Equipment and office support

  • Assist with IT equipment preparation, deployment, maintenance, returns, asset records, and stock control.
  • Coordinate supplier quotations, deliveries, collections, repairs, and service visits; purchasing and expenditure approvals remain with managers.
  • Support UAE office operations and liaise with facilities providers, landlords, contractors, and local services.
  • Assist with supplies, couriers, visitors, meetings, events, and routine workplace needs.
  • Coordinate local activities for central teams and support routine employee administration, including visa-document coordination under HR or central-team direction.

Documentation and improvement

  • Maintain procedures, checklists, knowledge articles, tickets, and appropriate administrative records.
  • Handle confidential information appropriately, provide clear guidance, and suggest practical process improvements.

Essential qualifications

  • Relevant IT qualification or equivalent practical IT knowledge and experience.
  • Basic understanding of end-user technology, common workplace applications, and computer operating systems.
  • Strong spoken and written English and ability to explain technical matters clearly and patiently.
  • Customer-focused, organized, and reliable approach, including accurate records and appropriate handling of confidential information.
  • Interest in a career combining IT support and office administration.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the UAE and occasionally elsewhere in the region.

Desirable experience

  • Suitable for someone entering the workplace or with up to one year of relevant experience; training and guidance will be provided.
  • Useful exposure includes Microsoft 365 administration, SharePoint, Teams, Windows, macOS, helpdesk systems, and end-user support.
  • Experience with workplace technology, audiovisual equipment, asset management, stock control, joiner-mover-leaver processes, or office administration is useful but not expected in every area.
  • Basic knowledge of responsible workplace AI use and spoken or written Arabic would be useful.
  • A UAE driving licence is useful but not essential if suitable travel arrangements can be made.

Working arrangements

  • The role is office-based in Dubai, with work from the Abu Dhabi office when required.
  • Global IT support is delivered remotely, with hands-on support across MENA offices.
  • Occasional travel to Riyadh and other MENA locations may be required.
  • Core business hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for operational demands; occasional out-of-hours work may be needed for planned maintenance, urgent support, or important business activities.

Scope and authority

The role has no direct reports and does not own IT strategy, departmental budgets, or the global IT service.

The assistant may engage suppliers but cannot enter contracts or approve expenditure and does not own cybersecurity operations or provide legal or immigration advice.

Requests outside established procedures or involving sensitive or high-risk matters should be referred for guidance.
