Junior Data Analyst

Role overview

Duties

• Analyze and interpret data using SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
• Develop and maintain simple Power BI dashboards and visualizations.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
• Validate and clean data to support accuracy.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and respond to data requests from different teams.
• Identify trends in datasets to inform business decisions.
• Assist with data connections to support smooth data flow from storage systems.
• Continue learning data tools and languages, including Excel, Power BI, DAX, Python, and SQL.

Required skills and experience

• Basic proficiency in Python, DAX, SQL, Power BI, and Excel.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or another related field.
• Some experience with data analysis or coursework in a related field.
• Attention to detail, willingness to learn, collaboration, problem-solving, and curiosity about data.
• Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
• Exposure to business intelligence technologies and data visualization tools is a plus.

Work arrangement and conditions

• The position may be on-site, hybrid, or fully remote; the arrangement will be determined at hire based on agency needs and may change to meet operational requirements.
• Remote employees must keep cameras on during virtual meetings.
• The role requires extended periods of sitting and computer use and may occasionally require lifting lightweight office equipment.

Compensation

• Advertised pay is USD 28–32 per hour.
