Full Job Posting
We are hiring for a Junior Data Analyst to join our Finance & Business Intelligence team at Joondalup Health Campus.
This is the perfect launchpad to develop your analytical skills, rapidly scale your technical capabilities, and gain hands-on experience driving real business decisions.
Working alongside experienced analysts and stakeholders across the business, you will help transform raw data into meaningful insights, contribute to reporting and visualisation, and support the ongoing improvement of our data and reporting processes.
We are looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset, an eagerness to learn, and an interest in understanding how data can be used to solve business problems.
You will be supported to build your skills and take on increasing responsibility as you develop in the role.
As a Junior Data Analyst your role will include, but is not limited to:
- Data preparation and analysis: Extracting, cleaning, transforming, and validating data to prepare it for analysis and reporting.
- Reporting and visualisation: Assisting with the development and maintenance of reports and dashboards to communicate business performance, trends, and insights.
- Business insights: Analysing financial and operational data to identify patterns, investigate variances, and help answer business questions.
- Data management and governance: Maintaining documentation, data definitions, and processes to support data quality, consistency, and governance requirements.
- Business collaboration: Working with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, clarify business requirements, and communicate findings in a clear and accessible way.
- Continuous improvement: Contributing ideas to improve reporting, analytical processes, and the use of data across the business.
- Learning and development: Building your technical and analytical skills through hands-on experience, collaboration with experienced team members, and ongoing professional development.
What we are looking for
We value potential, curiosity, and a strong analytical mindset.
While previous industry experience is not essential, you should be keen to learn, comfortable working with numbers, and motivated to develop your skills as a data analyst.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Relevant qualifications: A degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science. You will have a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and an interest in applying data to business problems.
- Foundational technical skills: An understanding of data analysis and manipulation, with exposure to tools such as Microsoft Excel and SQL through studies, projects, internships, or other practical experience.
- Reporting and visualisation: An interest in presenting data visually. Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools is advantageous but not essential.
- Analytical thinking: The ability to investigate problems, recognise patterns and trends, interpret results, and ask thoughtful questions about what the data is telling you.
- Attention to detail: A methodical approach to working with data, with an appreciation for accuracy, data quality, and reliable reporting.
- Communication and collaboration: The ability to explain findings clearly, work effectively with others, and adapt your communication to different audiences.
- Initiative and a willingness to learn: A proactive attitude, an openness to feedback, and a desire to develop new technical skills and continuously improve.
