A leading Dubai-based law firm is seeking a high-calibre
Barrister or common law-qualified disputes lawyer
with
1–2 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE)
to join its growing disputes practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior advocate looking to build a specialist practice in
UAE onshore/offshore litigation
, with a particular focus on
Difc Courts
and
Adgm Courts
matters.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior litigators and partners on a broad range of high-value commercial disputes, gaining strong exposure to advocacy, drafting, and case strategy in two of the region’s leading common law court systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing contentious matters before the
Difc Courts
and
Adgm Courts
- Draft pleadings, submissions, witness statements, skeleton arguments, and legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research on procedural and substantive common law issues
- Support hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and settlement negotiations
- Liaise with clients, external counsel, experts, and court registries
- Contribute to dispute strategy, risk analysis, and enforcement planning
- Support cross-border enforcement and jurisdiction-related matters where relevant
Candidate Profile
- Qualified
Barrister
- (England & Wales preferred) or common law-qualified disputes lawyer
- **1–2 years PQE**
- in commercial litigation, arbitration, or dispute resolution
- Prior exposure to
- court advocacy
- and contentious drafting is highly desirable
- Experience with
DIFC Courts, ADGM Courts
- , or other common law jurisdictions is advantageous
- Strong drafting, analytical, and legal research skills
- Commercially minded with excellent client communication abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
Preferred Background
- Candidates from leading chambers, international law firms, or strong regional disputes teams are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Experience in complex commercial disputes, banking litigation, shareholder disputes, or enforcement proceedings will be viewed favourably.
