Role Description

The Junior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Richmond, BC, working directly with the CFO and various departmental heads.

Responsibilities

include full-cycle accounting, processing accounts payable, posting journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate and organized financial records.

This position involves regular collaboration with the CFO operating in a different time zone.

Accounting (MS Great Plains & Quickbooks)

  • Vendor management
  • Bank Reconciliations and auction payout summary
  • Month-end soft closing in a timely manner.
  • Prepare monthly profitability statements for each department.
  • Prepare and file GST/PST returns.
  • Collect customer payments and make follow-up calls on-site during auctions.
  • Handle cash and make frequent deposit runs to the bank
  • Collaborate with department heads and provide timely support.
  • Assist management and external accountants in various other tasks from time to time.

HR (Dayforce)

  • Employee onboarding into payroll and benefits software.
  • Payroll and employee expense reports processing.
  • Complete and file monthly and yearly returns.
  • Resolve employee concerns as and when required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a full cycle accounting environment
  • Strong computer skills with experience using ERPs, MS Suite and AI.
  • Well-organized and ability to work independently to meet timelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
