Position Summary
The Junior Accountant will support the Film Studio Accountant in managing the day-to-day financial and accounting activities of the film studio and distribution operations.
The role requires strong coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to manage invoicing, documentation, reporting, and financial tracking across multiple projects and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate must have prior experience within a film studio or film distribution house environment and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-based setup.
This role reports to the Film Studio Accountant and works closely with the Operations team.
Responsibilities
- Support the Film Studio Accountant with daily accounting and finance operations.
- Prepare and process client/vendor invoices, payment requests, and reconciliations.
- Collate expense reports, cost sheets, financial trackers, and supporting documentation.
- Track project expenses, petty cash, receivables, and payment follow-ups.
- Maintain organized accounting records, reports, and financial documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to collect required financial information and documentation.
- Assist with monthly closing activities, reporting, and audit documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and internal financial controls.
- Carry out finance support tasks as assigned by the Film Studio Accountant/ management.
- Assist in organizing and archiving accounting and finance documentation.
- Support in maintaining accurate records for audits and internal reviews.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- 2–3 years of accounting or finance experience within a film studio, or film distribution house.
- Understanding of production accounting, invoicing cycles, and project-based financial tracking.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP) or similar ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
