Journeyman Lineman - Transmission - Lubbock, TX

Summary

Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• To be considered at the Journeyman level, must possess a Journeyman Lineman Certification that is approved by the Department of Labor.
• Must successfully score on the Journeyman Assessment.
• Completion of an approved apprentice line program is required or 5 years of progressive electric lineman experience.
• Must have a Class A CDL.
• Must be capable of performing all aspects of electric transmission overhead, underground, construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Must be available for emergency callouts as per a schedule.
• Must have effective communication skills (verbal and written).
• Position could possibly require travel for extended time periods.
• Must be physically fit and able to lift objects up to 90 pounds, pass a physical examination and be able to perform strenuous physical labor under all types of conditions.
• Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers and groundwork with utility line crew required.
• A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times.
• Must reside within 30 miles of the Lubbock, TX service center.
• Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.
• Must pass the Xcel Energy security and drug screening.

• The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $53.85 per hour
