Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Joinery Workshop Manager role based in Dubai.
The Joinery Workshop Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the joinery workshop, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to meet project timelines and quality standards.
This role will manage and mentor workshop teams, assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety procedures and company policies.
The manager will review drawings and specifications, provide technical guidance, optimize material usage, and ensure accurate fabrication and finishing of joinery items.
The role will also involve liaising with project managers, site teams, and suppliers, maintaining workshop equipment, tracking inventory, and supporting continuous improvement in processes and workmanship.
Qualifications
- Strong background in joinery, carpentry, or woodworking, with hands-on workshop experience in high-quality interior fit-out.
- Proven experience managing a joinery or fabrication workshop, including planning, resource allocation, and production control.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications, and translate them into accurate production plans.
- Experience leading diverse teams, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback in a workshop environment.
- Solid understanding of joinery materials, machinery, tools, and finishing techniques, with a focus on quality and detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and best practices in workshop operations, with a commitment to a safe working environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with project managers, designers, and site teams.
- Proficiency in basic computer tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets) and familiarity with production or project management software is an advantage.
- Previous experience in interior fit-out projects within residential, commercial, hotel, or leisure sectors is preferred.
- Relevant technical qualification or diploma in carpentry, joinery, or a related construction discipline is desirable.
