Role Description

The Joinery Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, responsible for overseeing all joinery operations and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification.

The role includes managing production schedules, coordinating with project managers, designers, and contractors, and supervising workshop staff to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency.

The Joinery Manager will review technical drawings, allocate materials and resources, monitor workflow across dual shifts, and resolve operational issues quickly.

Daily tasks also involve quality control checks, updating stakeholders on project status, enforcing health and safety standards, and optimizing processes to reduce waste and improve productivity.

The Joinery Manager will support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining Al Zan’s reputation for reliable, friction-free delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of joinery production, custom furniture manufacturing, and fit-out workflows, including materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications, with the ability to translate them into clear production plans.
  • Proven team leadership and people management skills, including supervising workshop staff, assigning tasks, and managing performance and training.
  • Project and operations management capabilities, including scheduling, resource planning, monitoring timelines, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of quality control and health and safety practices in a manufacturing or joinery environment.
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages commonly used in the UAE workforce is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in joinery or carpentry management, preferably within a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Relevant technical qualification or diploma in carpentry, joinery, interior fit-out, or a related field; vocational training or trade certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with basic production software, MS Office, and digital documentation tools for tracking jobs and reporting.
