About the Role
: On behalf of an advanced technology client in Abu Dhabi, we are hiring an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a high-performance application software team.
This role focuses on the design and development of backend software for next-generation cellular and secure communication systems, operating in a complex, distributed, and performance-critical environment.
Responsibilities
- :
- Research, design, and develop cutting-edge cellular communication solutions using Kotlin, Java, Akka, Gradle, GitLab, and Docker.
- Design and implement backend systems based on Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Reactive architectures, and actor-based systems.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
- Build scalable, message-based, and high-performance backend services.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, system architects, and product managers to deliver robust technical solutions.
- Contribute to technological and architectural decisions.
- Work within multi-disciplinary Agile teams, adopting Agile methodologies, tools, and mindset.
Qualifications
- :
- BSc or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in Java and Kotlin software development
Required Skills
- :
- Strong experience with functional programming, message-based communication, Reactive programming, DDD, and TDD
- Ability to read technical documentation and develop tools based on specifications
- Self-directed profile with strong planning and execution capabilities
- Team player with experience working in Agile environments
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills

- Strong passion for software development and technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible attitude with the ability to perform under pressure
- Upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English
