Develop and support scalable enterprise applications using Java and Spring technologies.
The role includes new feature development, stakeholder collaboration, production support, and continuous improvement of stability, performance, and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement application functionality using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
- Build backend services, APIs, and reusable components; design and integrate RESTful APIs with internal and external applications.
- Work with stakeholders and Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Develop and optimize database queries and application data-access components.
- Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
- Improve stability, performance, monitoring, and observability; participate in solution design, technical discussions, and code reviews.
- Develop unit and integration tests, support releases and deployments, and contribute to production readiness.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and support teams throughout the development lifecycle and follow Agile/Scrum practices.
Basic qualifications
- 7+ years of Java application development and enterprise software engineering experience.
- 4+ years of Spring/Spring Boot and backend application development experience.
- 3+ years developing and integrating REST APIs and relational databases.
- 3+ years across the full SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Core technical skills
- Java; Spring and Spring Boot; REST APIs and system integration; SQL and relational databases.
- Object-oriented design, design patterns, software design principles, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Incident analysis, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, Git, CI/CD, code reviews, monitoring, logging, and observability.
Nice-to-have skills
- Kotlin, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, containerized applications, microservices, Docker, and cloud-native development.
- Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Business-critical production support experience and understanding of application performance, resilience, and stability engineering.
- Analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
