Role overview

Responsibilities

• Guide organizational mission, vision, and long-term development; oversee program design and implementation.
• Set priorities and ensure activities meet quality, impact, and compliance standards.
• Manage partnerships, represent the organization in external networks, and support fundraising and resource mobilization.
• Review plans and reports, make strategic decisions, mentor core team members, and monitor social impact indicators.
• Ensure good governance, risk management, and alignment with regional and international NGO best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in NGO leadership or social enterprise management, with a background in education, sport for development, or community programs.
• Skills in strategic planning, organizational development, partnership building, and cross-cultural remote collaboration.
• Knowledge of project management, monitoring and evaluation, budgeting, and nonprofit financial oversight.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, child protection, and safeguarding.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English is required; French or local Rwandan languages are an asset.
• East Africa or similar-context organizational experience is highly beneficial.
