Role Description
This full-time, remote IT Support Officer (Entry / Junior Level) role focuses on providing first-line technical assistance to internal users.
The IT Support Officer will respond to service requests, resolve basic hardware and software issues, and escalate more complex problems to senior team members when needed.
Daily tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting desktop computer and printer issues, installing and updating standard software, and supporting users through email, chat, or video calls.
The role also involves documenting incidents and resolutions, maintaining accurate asset records, and following established IT policies and procedures.
The IT Support Officer collaborates with the IT team to improve support processes and contributes to a reliable and secure technology environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Information Technology, including basic understanding of operating systems, networks, and common business applications.
- Hands-on Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify issues, follow diagnostic steps, and apply solutions or escalate appropriately.
- Practical experience or knowledge of Desktop Computers, including setup, configuration, and routine maintenance.
- Ability to provide Printer Support, such as installation, connectivity, and resolving printing errors.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset and ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple support requests.
- Relevant education in IT, computer science, or related field (certificate, diploma, or degree); entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) are a plus.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to new tools and technologies, and follow inclusive and non-discriminatory workplace practices.
